We had our latest staff outing at Diamond Peak, the local treasure of a ski resort! Tahoe is known for some of the best skiing in the world, and with the snow this year, all we've been hearing about at the shop is the knee deep powder, "better than Japan"! While we visited the mountain pre-fabulous, record breaking February, we still had a blast on our fave mountain as a storm rolled in.
Diamond Peak rocks ~30 runs, for skiers and snowboarders of all levels. Whether you are an intermediate or advanced skier, you won't forget your first run down Crystal Ridge Run (which we guarantee will be memorialized in your camera roll!). The panoramic views of Lake Tahoe, stunning crystal-blue waters, with surrounding snow-capped mountains... you can't beat it. #BESTviewsinTAHOE
As a ski family with a toddler, we appreciate how family-friendly Diamond Peak is. They offer a "Kids Ski Free program" for children under the age of 6 and interchangeable parent tickets so the grown-ups can take turns on the mountain under one ticket.
Swing by Gear Hut and you can save $15 off Diamond Peak list tickets! We've got a fancy QR coupon code for ya on our community board!
Pro Tip: Take a mid-mountain break at the Snowflake Lodge for hot cocoa and a snack. It's a quieter lodge with top notch views from the patio, and touts wifi for that "work meeting" you have to take.
Check out those killer views!
FUN FACT!
Did you know that Diamond Peak is community owned? That means that change is dictated by locals... this is HUGE because the community cares about HOW development and growth happens. Big corporations across the country aren't the ones dictating operations. Due to their mission and commitment, the community and Diamond Peak have been listed as one of America's 10 Most Eco-Friendly Resorts, is STOKE Certified and rallies for sustainable choices that impact the future of Lake Tahoe and the mountain. Gear Hut LOVES this about Diamond Peak, as our missions align!
